                                                                                   Edinburgh

Dear Anna,
Thank you for your letter which came yesterday. I like to hear from you. The news of you interview is very interesting. You didn’t say if you got the job I hopw so. I was sorry to hear that you have been bugled again. How much money have you been stolen? Five hundred pounds is a lot of money. Do the police know who did it?
You wanted me to tell you about what I am doing in Edinburgh and how is my life there. Well, I enjoy it very much. The course is goot but harder that I thought. First, I hadn’t any friends, but I soon knew the people who are in same department as me. Actually, I spent all the time trying to buy the books I need to read for my course although it is difficult to find them. I’m sure I will find them soon. When I buy them, I’ll be very busy!
I’m finish now. My friend must write a letter in French and I said that I would help him. Write or phone me soon. If you go to Scotland, you should visit me, but remember to take warm clothes! If is so cold here!

                                                              Best wishes

                                                                        Serge.

FLIPPING THE CLASSROOM

This video shows a different way to do class.

A normal class is when the teacher explains the subject in front of the students and all of them in theory are listening to him/her. The problem is that not all the students learn in the same way.

As a result the video explains a different idea for doing a class. The teacher makes different videos with the contents and the students can see them lots of times and they can learn independently.

The profit is that every student is able to learn on his way, practice what they want and they can ask the teacher too in class.

In my opinion changing the form of study is awesome because the students become motivated and probably they will get better marks.

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE SCHOOL BANYOLES CELEBRATES ITS 10th BIRTHDAY

Last Thursday 8th October the Official Language School in Banyoles celebrated its 10th birthday. The event took place in the Auditorium L’Ataneu.

During the meeting Annie Gili, the principal of the school,  talked about his project. She was conscious that opening this educational center had been a challenge because Banyoles is a town near Girona and a lot of people tend to go there. However, the OLS, where you has 400 students right now, you can learn English and French.

The other participants in the meeting were the mayor of the town, Miquel Noguer, Sebastià Serrano, who is a linguist and communication expert, and Albert Bayot. All of them congratulated the school and the teachers.

INFORMAL EMAIL

Hi, Alison!
How are things?
We have received your e-mail so, we're going to give you some information about Girona and Banyoles.

If we were you, we would go to Girona, which is a big city with a lot of activities to do. For example, you could visit the cathedral, several museums and have a relaxing afternoon in "La Devesa" park.

Walking through the streets of Girona you can find some restaurants, a shopping centre and to spend a great time at night you should go to the main street, where you can meet a lot of people in the best pubs and discos.

Moreover, you can go to Banyoles by bus and visit the peaceful lake and of course us!

Looking forward to seeing you soon here.
Kisses.
